Being that i have owned 2 xbox 360’s and both got the red ring of death i was pretty skeptical when looking around at different manuals on how to fix my xbox at home. Being that im a gaming addict i needed my xbox fixed fast. This product made it seem very easy, it was cheap and said i could have my 360 up and running in 1 hour so i bought it.

The Ebook is 44 pages and is a complete guide that includes pictures on how to fix every problem in great detail and goes into what causes each xbox problem.

 Really you could read just the ebook and repair your xbox. The 8 HD videos that you get are really just icing on the cake. The videos aren’t cheap over the shoulder unsteady videos. They are high quality and professionally done and edited. The videos go into great detail but aren’t as detailed as the Ebook. However with having both to refer too, you cant mess up.

What you will need?


In order to fix your xbox 360 correctly you will need to buy a few things if you don’t have them laying around your house already. Using this guide requires only a few after market screws, nylon washes, steel zinc plated washes, and Artic Silver 5 Thermal Paste. You will need these to complete one of the two mods you will be doing to your xbox. Dont worry these parts will only cost you around $15. (You will also need a paper clip and a knife, you should have that laying around though)

In the ebook and videos you are shown how to correctly and hopefully permanently fix your xbox. This isn’t the towel trick or sodering a penny to your mother board. This is the only perfessional guide i have found that shows you how to take your xbox apart and fix the main problems at their core. Your shown how to completely remove microsofts faulty X clamp design and upgrade it for mere pennies and make it how microsoft should have from the beginning. This will allow your xbox to stay much cooler and last 10x longer. 



The second mod you will preform is really THE MOST IMPORTANT!! You will perform the Baker Baker mod. Im gonna let you know before hand that this is really what is going to fix your xbox and you need to do this EXACTLY as told in the manual and in the video. This isnt the towel trick or any other method that claims to be the Baker Baker method. Its very calculated, easy to follow and safe. DONT EVER ATTEMPT THE TOWEL TRICK. I did it to my first xbox 360 before ever finding James Dean 3 red light fix pro and i completely fried my motherboard.



Now to the good and bad points. 



The BAD

  • James claims that that the price will be increasing on monday from $29.95 to $49.95. Let me tell you not to worry. Iv been looking the past few mondays and nothing has increased.
  • The product claims you can fix your xbox in under an hour. You can fix it in under an hour but if you include the time reading the manual, watching the videos, the time recommended in the manual to let your xbox cool , and not rushing. Id say 2 hours maybe a little more is a more justifiable figure.



The GOOD

  • You have the option to download all the files so you can save them to your phone, ipod, and take them anywhere.

  • You gain access to the members area where you can watch all the videos and get bonus information.

  • The entire product is completely digital. So you don’t have to worry about any shipping and get access to the members area and the entire product instantly

  • You get a full 60 day money back guarantee so you have 60 days to fix your red ring of death issues or you can get a full refund. (i was able to fix mine the day after i purchased james dean 3 red light fix pro) 



My final thoughts and James Dean 3 red light fix pro review.



This is the only product i have found that really teaches anyone step by step how to fix the red ring of death at the core of the problem professionally. It doesn’t matter what technical skill level you have in order to repair the red ring of death using this guide. I had great success using this guide and is the only way i have managed to fix my xbox with out spending $140 sending it to Microsoft and my Xbox has been bullet proof since and showing nothing but green lights.

I have even managed to make my money back from purchasing the product and then some by fixing 3 of my friends xbox’s.

Red Ring of death Repair- Why does this happen, what are your options

If you own an xbox 360 its with out a doubt that you have experienced some problems. If you haven’t your very lucky but im sure you know someone who has been in the need of xbox repair.

Since its release in the fall of 2005 the 360 has faced many problems. Many of these problems can be identified by the number of red lights which appear when you turn your console on. Let me quickly go over what the different flashing red lights on xbox mean so you can determine how to fix it.

1 red light- if this is your problem you might be in luck. This is usually just a connection error and you might just unplug everything and set it back up.

3 red lights- this is infamousely known as the red ring of death or as microsoft would call it, the RROD error.

2 red lights-  This means that the system has over heated.

4 red lights- this typically happens during a power surge and can be reset usually by just unplugging the entire system and plugging it back in. Newer models with HDMI shouldnt have this problem

Your xbox might also display the E74 error code or another code on the screen which tells you to contact xbox so they can in return tell you to mail it in and pay $140. But you can get a brand new console for $200… Doesnt make since to me.

Other issues include “bricking” which is when your games or DVDs become scratched when they are played in the console.

The xbox warranty departedment says that the failure rate for the 360 is only 23.7% but a more accurate 54.2% figure came from a Game Informer survey. Thats more than half of every xbox sold.

So here are the only options to fix your xbox.

  • Send your xbox back to microsoft and hope its under warranty or pay $140 for them to fix it.
  • Find someone on craigslist who might just take your xbox and further damage it or worse. Take your money and xbox.
  • Pay $80 to someone on ebay and mail it off to somewhere far away with no sure sign that you will get it back or when.
  • find a computer store who deals with hardware errors and fixes broken xbox 360s. Iv found they still cost about $100
  • You could do the towel trick and overheat it to reset and have it work for a day. Or you could do one of the hundreds of other crazy things like standing on the back of it, putting it in the oven….

Iv been in this position twice and the first time i did the towel trick for a quick fix and then thought i could have microsoft fix it only to have mailed it paid for shipping waited 2 months just to have them tell me they couldnt fix it because i had tampered with it.

The other option you have tho it to follow James Dean 3 Red Light Fix Pro and read his Ebook and watch all 8 step by step HD videos where he shows you step by step how to fix all of the problems iv mentioned. These are easy to follow step by step videos. Everything you need to fix these problem permenatly you have laying around your house right now. James Dean 3 Red Light Fix Pro – 5 Helpful tips to keep your system from failing

We all know that having our Xbox 360 get the ring of death sucks. After dealing with this twice my main question after using James Dean 3 red light fix pro was “how can i help prevent this from happening AGAIN…”

After reading all over the place these were the 5 most reacurring tips i saw coming up. So to prevent any future xbox repair its not a bad idea to keep these in mind when gaming.

1. Keep your Xbox off of the FLOOR
Setting your console on the floor or mainly carpet is a very bad idea. Since the Xbox 360 pulls air from the bottom When your console is laying flat on the carpet is cant get any air. This makes your console over heat and also suck up any dirt or hair that might be on your carpet.

Over heating as we know is the main cause for many xbox problems, e74 error, rrod, 1 red light, 2 red light, 3 red light….. the list goes on. So keep your console off the ground by setting it on a book, desk, table, or any other surface that will allow it to breath.
personal tip: setting your xbox on a lap top cooling pad works great!!

2. More AIR!!!!
Let your system breath as much as possible. Keep it out of the entertainment center or any tight closed off spaces. Let your xbox blow out the hot air and get as much circulation as possible. Your xbox will get the best air flow if set near a window, air conditioner,  lap top cooling pad as i mentioned.

3. Keep it clean.
Its important to keep dust out of your system. Be sure to clean the vents out every so often. Make sure you dont blow any dust into the console when cleaning it tho. Use a tissue and just wipe it down.

4. Let it chill
We all love our xbox and find ourselves playing games for hours and watching movies. Let your system have a break to cool down every so often tho. If you hear your fans churning (getting louder) thats a good sign it needs to cool off for a bit.

5. Turn it upside down?
Iv read and heard this from many gamers. That by standing your xbox up wont help you get any more air flow at all since your xbox will be covering up the side air ducts. Many people say to flip it up so its standing on the hard drive side so then all the vents are open to the air and your xbox still works perfectly fine. The only reason people dont do this is that it can be a little tipsy. Get creative though and it will stand just fine.

There is one last tip i could mention and make this actually 6 tips but after buying a second xbox and successfully fixing it the second time i got the red ring im not gonna include it in my tips haha.

You could however buy a new xbox since they have increased air flow and are less likely to get the dreaded red ring of death. (i did that and still got it) but none of us really want to spend the money especially when James Dean 3 red light fix pro offers such an easy fix.

E74 fix – Error explained

Not everyone has the E74 error as the cause of their xbox problems but if your like me you know its very annoying. I have gotten the E74 error twice (both earlier generation xbox 360’s) and its strange cause one day your xbox is working perfectly and then the next you get either one red light blinking in the lower right quadrant along with a beautiful Error message on the screen saying “system error, contact xbox customer support” you will also see the E74 code pasted right below the message.

If your like me i am sure you have turned your xbox 360 on and off a few times hoping it would magically be ok and it probably worked once but the screen was very distorted with green lines running through it or black dots everywhere. Thats because e74 is video error.

This problem occurs when the xbox 360s scaler chip is damaged. This chip is what takes the image from the CPU and scales the graphics to fit your screen giving you picture

This xbox error happens more on the older 360 models since over the years they have changed some things and made certain pieces of hardware inside smaller or changed where they are located so that they get more air circulation to prevent these errors.

However as of April 14th 2009 Microsoft decided that the E74 error would be covered by a 3 year warranty, so for people who paid Microsoft before this date you would qualify to receive a refund on your e74 fix. Thank me later :)

The e74 error also is sometimes referred to as the “green screen of death” or “the black screen of death because of the color distortion you get from this error.
